Tuesday Afternoon
OK. Insurance Companies can bite it. I met with some folks at the Med and they kinda gave us the “it looks really promising”. So that was such a good feeling. Then of course leave it to the insurance monkeys to rip the rug out from under you. Tami called back to just get someone else at our insurance company to say “Yes she can stay” and she got a different answer. They told Tami that Aleia was going to be moved and they were working on the logistics to make it happen. UGH! I cannot describe that feeling. I am sure it was much worse for Tami. It’s not that the care would be worse or anything, just so much different than what we are used to already. So total emotional deflation on that issue for the afternoon. But it was not decided by the close of business today. So one more night at The Med NICU. We are thankful for everyone’s effort in trying to make this work out for us to stay at The Med. The NICU Doctor is trying to make it work out as is some of the upper administration. At least we are being told that by a few people at the hospital and also some other “insider” information from friends of friends. The battle will continue tomorrow. So wonderful limbo in which we live that is totally unrelated to the health of my family.
On to Aleia….. She is doing well again today. She is eating well and still breathing all on her own. So she is staying stable an progressing well. She is eating more each day so she may be able to put back on the ounces she has lost since birth.
Ashlynn is going to get to go into the NICU tomorrow and see her sister up close. She is so excited about that. She has been counting down the days since we found out she could not enter the NICU due to her immunizations. So she should be happy tomorrow.
On one other note for the day….apparently I have trouble spelling my own daughter’s name in this blog. I keep misspelling it almost in every post. So don’t worry if you are confused about the spelling it’s ALEIA. I just can’t type it correctly.

She is beautiful. Thank you Andrew for taking the time to post pictures and comments. It's really wonderful to read. My entire office has now been introduced to your new baby girl and everyone is praying for her continued good progress. Lots of hugs and love from the Whites in Albuquerque.
Love
Mary
